The St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Parish Community is blessed with musicians who give generously of their time and God-given musical talent to lead our community in sung prayer. Each ensemble is responsible for particular Masses, and all are invited to sing at other special liturgies throughout the year. Shared prayer is a vital component of every rehearsal as our ministry is grounded in service and devotion to God.
This ministry is open to anyone in high school and older who wants to serve as a leader in congregational song. The cantor is vital in helping to facilitate the active participation of the faithful. Cantors must be able to read music, take direction, and serve confidently in their leadership role. If you have any experience in cantoring, or are interested in being trained, do not hesitate to reach out and join.
The St. Anthony de Padua Choir is open to anyone in high school and older. Repertoire includes a wide range of styles and periods from chant to traditional and contemporary hymns. This choir sings once a month.
Our music ministry offers two scholas open to anyone in high school and older. One schola sings monthly at the 8:15 AM Sunday Mass, while the other sings monthly at the 10:30 AM Mass. Repertoire includes hymns, chants and even some polyphony. This group sings seasonally and once a month at weekend Masses.
Our liturgical ministers are scheduled via Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP) for scheduling periods of 10-14 weeks. MSP is super convenient and allows you to personalize your scheduling preferences including Mass preferences, dates you can't serve, and you can request a substitute with a click.
Serving frequency depends on the number of ministers also signed up to serve at your prefered Masses.
